## Policies

To maintain fairness to all potential employers, I have adopted the following policies:

### Automated technical assessments

I will complete automated technical assessments (e.g. CodeSignal) if **either** of the following conditions is met:

1. The cumulative assessment duration does not exceed 200% of the duration of completed human interviews. For example, if a human has previously interviewed me for 45 minutes, I will complete a 90 minute CodeSignal assessment.

OR

2. I am compensated at a rate of exactly $60/hr to complete any assessments. To maintain fairness to employers, the rate cannot be higher or lower than this. At least 50% of the payment must be made prior to the start of the assessment. Any contracts associated with this payment will not be associated with IP transfer.

### Take-home assessments

I will complete take-home assessments if I am compensated at a rate of exactly $60/hr to complete the take-home assessment. To maintain fairness to employers, the rate cannot be higher or lower than this. At least 50% of the payment must be made prior to the start of the assessment.

Any contract related to the take home assessment must include the following IP assignment:

* Until a written offer of employment is made, I (Dan Jacobellis) retain full IP ownership of any materials related to the assessment. If no written offer of employment is made, I retain these rights indefinitely.

* If a written offer of employment is made, then the company will retain full IP ownership of any materials related to the assessment.  

### Location

I prefer roles based in Austin, TX, but am open to other locations or remote work.

### Contract work

I am open to contract work, and provide extremely high speed and quality of service at fair rates. However, I cannot accept contracts that include IP transfer or limitations on publication of scientific research findings. I will provide a 14 day review period prior to any scientific publication associated with contract work.
